    Mountain Beaver

    Mountain beavers (Aplodontia rufa) are living members of the order Rodentia. Unlike true beavers, the mountain beaver has no close living relative. It resembles a tailless muskrat and has a thick-set, heavy body, small ears and eyes, forefeet equipped with long, strong, curved claws for digging, and dense, short, grizzled brown fur. Adult males average 850 g in weight, females 775 g. Mountain beavers breed once annually (February-March), have a gestation period of 28–30 days and bear 2–3 young.

    The mountain sheep is a highly successful, medium-sized, even-toed mammal (see Artiodactyla) of the cattle family (Bovidae), genus Ovis. It comprises some 37 subspecies in Eurasia and southern North America. Sheep colonized North America during the last Ice Age but remained rare until after the extinction of many large American mammals, about 11,000 years ago. The bighorn sheep is the provincial mammal of Alberta.

    Mowachaht-Muchalaht

    The Mowachaht and Muchalaht are Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations which formally amalgamated in the 1950s. Together, their territory includes parts of the west coast of Vancouver Island. As of November 2025, the federal government reports the registered population to be 615. Along with other Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council nations, the Mowachaht-Muchalaht are currently in stage four of a six-stage treaty process in British Columbia to attain self-government.

    Mr. Aimé Adam is a Korean War veteran who enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy shortly after the beginning of the war in the summer of 1950.
