    Harold Adams Innis, FRSC, political economist, pioneer in communication studies and president of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) in 1946-7 (born 5 November 1894 in Otterville, ON; died 8 November 1952 in Toronto, ON). Harold Innis's earlier writings in economics and economic history gave rise to a distinctively Canadian approach to these subjects.
